About Me

I first rode a motorbike in 1978, a Yamaha GT80, and I was instantly hooked. I've owned at least one motorbike from the day I was able to get my license. I first picked up a camera in 1986, a Pentax ME Super, and to make it work you had to open a flap on the back and load in stuff called film. I've owned a camera from that day to this, although the new one takes XQD cards instead of film thankfully.

I take photos of things that I'm interested in and that includes motorbikes. It also includes landscapes like the one you see me in here, Death Valley in California (back when you were allowed to fly to places).

There is something enormously satisfying about capturing a tiny slice of time, sometimes minutes, sometimes only 1/4000th of a second, and then seeing that slice displayed on a screen or a wall. Time continues to fly by, but that captured moment is forever.

About My Equipment

I currently use a Nikon D850 camera which is the highest resolution camera Nikon has ever produced, sporting a 45mp sensor. This means when you print out one of my photos, even in a poster size print, the detail is incredible. Attached to the front of this camera I use several lenses including a 24-70 and a 70-200. In other words, I use the gear that gets me the best result I can possibly get.
